Benefits of a Bridal Show

by Tonie Gamboa

You are now engaged and you and your fiancé have to set a date and plan a wedding.  A Bridal Show, Wedding Expo, or Open House is a very important factor in planning your wedding.  It gives you the opportunity to meet with professional vendors face to face in one day under one roof.  These experts will display their products and services which will give you an idea of their work and price ranges which will assist you in establishing a budget for your special event.

So, let’s get started!

Research your local social media and businesses for    scheduled events.  They are usually free but require registration prior to the event to receive an entrance ticket.  Make plans for you and your fiancé to attend.  Arrive early and bring comfortable shoes.

Talk to as many vendors as you can.   Some vendors will have gifts for every couple that visit their booth and you can register for many prizes that will be raffled directly from their exhibit in addition to the Bridal Show grand prizes.

Bring a tote bag because you are going to be getting lots of samples, business cards, and brochures.

You will be able to smell the flowers, try on jewelry, feel the fabric on the linen, and hear your favorite music by a DJ or Mariachi Band.  Local beauty spas will be available for suggestions in skincare and hairstyles for your bridal veils.

Oh by the way, eat something light before you arrive.  Caterers and restaurants will be on hand to share their delicious recipes of appetizers, dinner entrees, and bakeries will have scrumptious dessert samples as well as their beautiful cake designs on display.  As a future bride you will certainly feel like a queen for the day during these events.  The highlight of the event is the runway fashion show with the newest designs in wedding dresses, tuxedos, and evening wear for the wedding party.  Be sure you bring your checkbook, bank card, and/or cash because there will be special discount offers exclusively during the show and you will need to pay a deposit to secure their services.  You will save several hundred dollars in your overall budget during the event.   The show is very busy and exciting so you might not be able to get all of your questions answered because there is a line of other couples waiting to see the same vendor.  Remember, there is an average of 20 couples planning a wedding for the same weekend as yours so secure an appointment with these professionals before their schedule fills up and please keep your appointment or have the courtesy to cancel or reschedule.  I have been an event planner for more than twenty years and I know you will have a successful event when you are organized, well informed, and keep in line within your budget.  I look forward to seeing you at the next bridal show.
